Children’s Ministries
“Teach [these things] to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
–Deuteronomy 11:19

Our Children's ministry is staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers, including many volunteers from our FBC youth group, who are committed to the care and love of your child. This summer we're offering a Veggie Tales Kid’s Worship service for children every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. in room 14, and we continue to offer a Children's church during our 10:45 a.m. service.
Children's Ministries works because of the dedication of our many volunteer teachers, assistants, and nursery and toddler care workers. In addition to helping out on Sundays, Children's Ministries along with Women's Ministries supports the Wednesday morning Moms Coffee Break group by providing a children's program to the moms' kids! Volunteers are needed year round.

Nursery & Toddler Rooms. Our nursery and toddler rooms are places where adults make a loving impact on the lives of our congregation's precious babies and toddlers and their families. Our nursery and toddler room workers demonstrate the love of Jesus to children at the very beginning of their lives.
Sunday School Classes. Each Sunday morning (9:00 a.m-10:15 a.m.) our children are provided with Bible teaching for grades kindergarten through sixth grade. We seek to train our children in learning to relate Biblical truth to daily living. We seek to encourage families in the Christian training of their children and interacting with them in spiritual
matters.
Children's Church. Each Sunday morning, during our 10:45 a.m. service (from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.) our children are invited to participate in a "kids' style" worship known as Children's Church. Children accompany their parents at the beginning of FBC's 10:45 a.m. service and are dismissed approximately 30 minutes later (11:15 a.m.) and are led to the Youth Room (Room 24) for Children's Church. During this time, children enjoy worship that includes singing, participating in a Bible lesson or story, then playing a game or activity related to the Bible lesson.
Get Involved!
We need volunteers year-round to work in Children's Ministries. Working with children can be very fulfilling because our children are like sponges; they absorb the lessons about Jesus and are very grateful for the love and care our workers provide. Those who serve in this ministry understand that all children need to be taught the Word of God in a loving, nurturing environment.
You can serve in a variety of ways, which include being teachers, teacher’s assistants, Children’s Church helpers, nursery workers, and Vacation Bible School aides.
Please note, all FBC childcare workers must first attend the “Reduce the Risk” seminar and fill out appropriate background information. The safety of the children is our top priority. If you are interested in learning more about how you can get involved, please contact Kathy Ruckdaschel at d.ruckdaschel@comcast.net or Carey South at dcsouth@verizon.net.
