Dear Church Family and Friends

We know that you are very aware of the Covid-19 or Coronavirus and the effect that it is having upon our world. This has left many of us wondering what we should do, including what we should do with our ministries and worship services here at the First Baptist Church.

After consulting the Skagit County Health Department and after much prayer, the Church Board and I have made the decision to suspend all church activities for the next four weeks (or through April 11). We are being told that the best way to prevent the spread of the virus is by limiting social contacts and so we are heeding that advice.

We make this decision out of love for our church family and community. Personally, I have been wrestling with this decision, because as many of you know, I have just completed chemotherapy and that puts me at risk as are many in our congregation.

We are planning to live stream our messages on Facebook Sundays at 10:00 AM. You will be able to access the messages on our website by clicking on the social tab. Audio versions of the sermon will continue to be offered under the media tab on the website. Also, the church staff is planning to keep regular working hours to assist you with any needs or concerns that you may have.

Let’s be in prayer, for not only each other, but for the world during this time, that we all might know the hope that Jesus Christ brings.

Pastor Eric

HOME GROUPS

During the year we offer 8 – 10 week studies for our Home Groups. A home fellowship is a small group that meets for Bible Study in the relaxed, casual atmosphere of a home. Fellowship and prayer are key ingredients and the small group atmosphere allows the studies to be interactive. Home fellowships are the fullest expression of fellowship, where you can grow in your relationship with God and others.

Sermon-based groups are on-going now with our new series called Jesus the Storyteller. Please contact the church office @ 360-293-5300 for more information if you are interested in getting involved.
